Privacy Policy — ESC Bluetooth Printer

This Privacy Policy explains how the ESC Bluetooth Printer app ("ESC/POS Print Service", the "App", "we", "us") handles information when you use it. The App is published on Google Play under the package name com.escbt.app. By installing or using the App, you agree to this Policy.

Summary: The App is built to print, not to profile you. You don't need an account. The documents you print are processed on your device and sent only to your Bluetooth printer — we never receive or store them. We use Google Firebase for anonymous usage analytics, anti-abuse attestation, and a server-side print counter.

1. Information we handle

a) Information you provide as print content

Text, receipts, QR codes, barcodes, and documents you choose to print, plus printer configuration you set (paper width, encoding, density, speed, cut mode). Print content is processed locally on your device and transmitted over Bluetooth to your printer. It is not uploaded to us or to any third party.

We do not collect your name, email address, contacts, photos, precise location for tracking, or payment card details.

2. Bluetooth & permissions

Bluetooth / Nearby devices — used solely to discover and connect to your thermal printer and send print data. We do not build a profile of nearby devices.
Location (Android 11 and below only) — older Android versions require the location permission to perform Bluetooth scanning. The App uses it only to find printers; it does not collect, store, or share your geographic location.

3. Payments

Premium is a one-time in-app purchase processed entirely by Google Play Billing. We never see or store your card or payment details. Your purchase and refund terms are governed by Google Play. See Google's Privacy Policy for how they handle payment data.

4. How we use information

To provide printing and the system print service;
To operate the free tier and Premium entitlement;
To protect against fraud and abuse of the free quota;
To measure and improve reliability, performance, and features.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

5. Sharing

We share the limited data above only with our service providers who process it on our behalf — primarily Google (Firebase Analytics, Firebase App Check, Cloud Firestore, and Google Play Billing). We may disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights and users. We do not otherwise share your data.

6. Data retention

Analytics data is retained according to your Firebase Analytics settings (typically up to 14 months). The anonymous quota record is retained while the App is in use to keep your free-print balance accurate. You can request deletion as described below.

7. Security

Data in transit to Google services is encrypted with industry-standard TLS. Print content stays on your device and your local Bluetooth link. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.

8. Children

The App is intended for general/business use and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

9. Your rights

Depending on your jurisdiction (e.g. GDPR/UK GDPR, CCPA), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your data, and to opt out of analytics. You can:

Uninstall the App to stop all further collection;
Reset your advertising/analytics identifiers in Android settings;
Contact us to request deletion of the anonymous quota record associated with your device.

10. International transfers

Google may process data in countries other than yours. Such transfers are covered by Google's data-processing terms and applicable safeguards.

11. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, within the App or on this page.
